Dr. Pearl K. Dowe

Pearl K. Dowe is also affiliated with the Africa and African American Studies Program. Dr. Dowe has published articles that have appeared in journals such as Journal of Black Studies, Presidential Studies Quarterly and Race Class and Gender. She has forthcoming articles in Political Psychology, Polity and Social Science Quarterly. Her most recent research focuses on understanding racial attitudes, behaviors, and campaign strategies in the era of Obama.
Dr. Dowe has been recognized by the University of Arkansas community for her commitment to diversity and students at the University. She has been awarded the Fulbright College's Nudie E. Williams Diversity Award, the NAACP Faculty of the Year Award, and the University of Arkansas Greek Life's Order of Omega Faculty of the Year Award.
A native of Savannah, GA, she earned a B.A. in political science from Savannah State College and her Ph.D. in political science from Howard University.
